My CA Result

Mommy expressed disappointment at my CA result. Actually, I should say she was mad at me for making all those silly/careless mistake in my papers. She reminded me that exam/test is not about how fast I can finish but how careful I am. And she was right that I was resting my head on the table while doing the paper! Wonder how she knows about it!!??

Anyway, here are my result:

Chinese Paper - 41/50 which works out to 82%. I make 2 careless mistakes and the rest of my marks was lost in the comprehension. I really dislike comprehension..

Maths Paper - 40.5/50 which works out to 81%

I got most scolding for this paper as 5 marks were gone for careless mistake. eg:
350 + 150 = 500 hundreds (I didn't take note of the words hundred)
30 tens = 300 hundreds etc

English Paper - 45/50 which works out to 90%

Got 2 careless mistakes - mommy wonder if I had short term memory problem as just by copying the words from the box on top of the passage, I can also mis-spell it.

Mommy said that if I don't know the how to answer the question, she still be able to teach me. But if I choose to be careless, then, there is nothing she can do about it. I felt really sad for making mommy so sad.

hi michelle,
hope you are just "pretending to be angry" and not really angry with Rachel. :) however, expressing your disappointment to rachel is necessary. :D

It's a learning process for the kids. They take time to learn to be more careful and more responsible.

mommy of 3 angels - You are so kind. :)

angie - Its more of letting her know my disappointment and hope she will learn to be more careful. Like I said to her, I don't hope for high score..all I want is that she learns to be careful with her work, which is more important, I think.

Rachel's mom,
Me too will hv the same reaction when I know it is due to 'careless mistake'. But later I regretted it as I know..they are just 'kids'.

hmmm... I realised its a 'trick' or a 'resort' that most parents use, kids-get-good-grades-to-please-parents.... sad to say, most parents didn't realise that they are doing it subconsciously....

hmmm.... a child should strive to excel, because she wants to, because she likes to....

still, I think those are fantastic results!

These are pretty good marks.

About careless mistakes, I have the same dilemma. No matter how I remind Kimberly to read carefully and to read twice, I still spot careless mistakes. I wonder if there is any approach to this carelessness issue?

hi Rachel,

You did well in your test. But i think u can do better if you have been a bit more careful in them.

Learn from this and next time, i believe you will be better.

Keep up the good work.

My lovely "A" - guess I really have to be more lax on this..but i want them to learnt to be careful in whatever they do in their lives.

Kole - thanks :)

Angeline - Let I told Rachel, I don't need her to get good grades. I just want her to learn to be careful in her work.

allthingspurple - if you find the approach, pls let me know :)

Astee - thanks :)

I only managed to find time to read everyone's blog today. Rachel's results are already very good, so just telling her to be more careful the next round should be good enough. :)
