Activities After Exam

Finally exams are over and school holiday is just round the corner!! YIPPEE!!

Daddy brought us out the very Saturday right after my last paper to Wild Wild Wet and my sister and I had a whale of a time! But poor Nicholas, he's so timid! He cling onto daddy all the time as he is afraid of loud noise. And when the big pail of water tumble down, he clinged even harder! Daddy had to coax him before he even dared to try the baby slide. *sigh* How come boys are even more timid than girls?

Poor little brother fell ill after this trip...running nose..such a weakling!

The next Saturday, daddy brought us to the Singapore Zoo which we are members to. Miss going to the Zoo and they have revamped the Children's playground. Now it's like a mini wild Wild Wet! Again, My sister and I couldn't wait and dashed right in to play while daddy try to get little Nicholas into the water. *sigh*

The Zoo also added a new feature - boat ride and we gave it a try. Not bad as an experience.

We had so much fun that daddy brought us back the following Saturday again, this time, without little Nicholas.

Oh..did I mentioned that mommy was RELAXING at home for these 3 outings. Daddy gave her a break so she can catch some beauty sleep and watch her DVD. So enjoy life!!

So what about mummy? ok. Thanks to LZmommy, we went to watch High School Musical 3. Its so fun watching with friends.L and I were laughing so much in the cinema!

Rainbow Carnival

Today is our last day of school and the Parentlink (parent volunteer group) organised a big scale Charity event - Rainbow Carnival. There were so many stores from food to games to second hand stuff. Parents from every classes were roped in to help with the event. We even have hair-colouring service; nail spa/nail polishing; massage... Our class is in charge of selling Fried Rice and Kuah Pie Tee and mum helped out in the Kuah Pie Tee store. She took the 2nd shift and thus went round the School compound to find me. I'm not that hard to spot for mum as she knows roughly where I will be...right! Game store!

Not bad with the Duck Racing game. My little duckling came in first and I won myself a nice bookmark. Next, mummy asked me to try out the Coconut bowling and it's a little difficult but fun, nonetheless! As you can see, I didn't managed to knock down every bottle but I still got a small price (sticker) for the effort.

I went on to play more games while mum went to the canteen to take over her shift.

These are some 2nd hand clothes I bought for Daddy, mummy and my siblings. Very cheap! Each piece only $0.50!! Mum and Dad thanked me for the sweet thoughts!

Bento #53

Left: Hello Kitty's face bread
Right: Cherry tomatoes + Cucumber + Sausages

Mummy had been lazy in coming out with new bento design and thus grateful to have other bento mommies supplying her. As said, she is now addicted to DVD watching, thus brain-dead in the morning. Actually, mommy didn't go to bed at all after finishing the disc at 4/5am. She moves on to prepare bento for me before dropping dead on her bed!

Pillow

Back to today's bento, its similar to Allthingspurple's just that mummy didn't use food colouring pencil but uses strawberry jam for the ribbon and Nutella for the whisker and the spread inside.

Too plain and felt guilty, mummy added some sausages for protein and cucumber and tomatoes for vitamin.

Mum was so glad that today is her last day of preparing bento for me this year as tomorrow will be my last day of school and our School organised a big fund raising carnival.

Hurray! One more day before my long long school holiday!!!

Bento #52 & Return of exam papers

Broccoli with carrot; Hello Kitty Fish cake; Stir-fried beef with Onion

The fish roe sheep look terrible! Think mum still need a lot of practice on this.

Yesterday, we got back most of the exam papers for our parents to double check and to revert if any marking is wrong.

Mum was happy with the marks and praised me for doing well but at the same time, she reprimanded me for making careless mistakes...

For Maths, out of the 3 mistakes I made, 2 were simply careless mistakes! Damn Damn And mom found that the teacher over-deducted 1 mark and mom wants me to get it back from teacher. Daddy said mummy very kaisu but mum thinks that 1 mark makes a lot of different!

And for my English, the comprehension really pulled my overall mark down by a lot. Not that my answers are wrong, but the teacher marking is REAL strict and almost every question, she deducted 1/2 mark for every slight grammar mistakes. Mum said this taught me a lesson to answer the question in complete sentence and watched out for grammar.

No complaint for Chinese! Yeah!! Bravo

Bento #51 & Spelling Bee Contest

Left: Star Fruit and Plum
Right: Soba; Hello Kitty Fishcake; Cheese Sausage; Gyoza

Right after my exam, mom found a new interest: watching romantic comedy till 3-4am in the morning and thus brain near dead in the morning.

When she woke up this morning, totally got no idea what to prepare as she had not gone marketing during the weekend (result of overslept) and so had to make use of what is left in our fridge and tried her best to prepare a good one for me.

Initially only Soba, but finds it too plain and added the Hello Kitty Fishcake. Still look plain and added the gyoza. Then she realised it look a little like a face and added the sausage as nose. Now I got Smiley Face Bento!

O, and today we had our Spelling Bee Contest and mommy was one of the parent volunteer. She is in charge of time-keeping and its really exciting. Mom was as nervous as me when its my turn to spell Hear, See, Speak No Evil but nothing to worry, I got it right and won a bar of chocolate. So fun and exciting!
Can you spot me?

Bento #50

Eel; Broccoli and carrot; fish roe

Simple and easy bento today. Pan-fry the Eel and cut into strip. The only challenging part is the flower deco using the fish roe which mum spend a good 5 minutes doing it!

I like the fish roe to blend with my rice. taste so yummy..

Bento #49

Terriyaki chicken wrap in tortilla; Cube honey dew in penguin container,
seaweed and ham flower decoration

Finally our exam is over and school arranged for Skateline to come to our School again to teach us to blade! Funny, I can skate well with L the other time mommy brought us to East Coast but I kept falling down in School today. Mom said it maybe because of the floor surface..too smooth.

Knowing that I will be hungry after such exercise, mom prepared Terriyaki chicken wrap for me..more filling. She also heeded Aunty Joyce's advice to combine seaweed and ham to make the flower. Indeed, its taste so much nicer.

Bento #48

Top: Star Fruits and Edamame
Bottom: Egg;cucumber and crab stick sushi roll

Mom ran out of idea and asked what I want. Without the need to think, I immediately told her "Sushi" and Charmaine wanted too. Mom was glad she need not crack her brain to think what to pack for me.

Charmaine had some for breakfast too.

Bento #46

Left: Ham, ham+egg flower; Roti Prata with Cheese and Sausage
Right: Rock Melon

Thanks LZmommy for giving mommy the idea of rolling the Prata with sausage. Its yummy and the prata roll is just like the puff pastry.

Mom pan fried one side of the frozen Prata and when its done, flip over and place 1 slice of cheese and the cooked sausage and rolled it up slowly so that the prata "stick" with the help of the cheese.

Having make solely ham flower, mommy challenge herself again by rolling the pan-fried egg and ham together giving 2 colours to the flower.

The rock melon sold in Giant was on offer (2 for $4.50) and mom using the melon scoop t6o shape the melon into balls.

Bento #45

Top: Rice with Sakura Denbu; long bean; Taiwan Sausage; HK moulded egg
Bottom: Apples

Mom felt bad the bento didn't turn up well. She meant to make a Hello Kitty theme for me today but run into some problem with the nori puncher and thus, has to use scissor to cut the seaweed. For the mouth, she used the dried prawn which she fried with long bean. The so-called "ribbon" had to replaced using the sakura denbu..

The egg colouring didn't turn up well too. She tried using Ribena to colour it but failed. *sigh* guessed she really need to use food colouring for beautiful colour egg...

Also, she wanted to cut the apples using the HK mould too but I was running late for school and thus, she just have to get them cut into cube.

Mommy was feeling really bad with the terrible bento but my happy face + the "wow" when she brought the bento out to take picture gave her comfort. I assured mommy that the bento looks so cute and had all my favourite food and gave mommy a big hug for the effort.

Bento #44

Wholemeal bread with cheese and ham; Cherry Tomaotes; HK mashmallow

Did I mentioned that mom's brain is near dead?? hahaha...she said she had used up all her brain juices teaching me my exam and thus, no more "juices" to think how to make cute bento now.

So, back to basic...she just packed some bread roll and cherry tomatoes in for me. Finding it a little too plain, put in the Hello Kitty mashmallow so that it look a little more exciting. The HK is so cute! Its shaped in the form of an ice-cream and taste yummy too!!
